Detectives are particularly keen for any information as to where stolen laptops may be being sold on.

It follows several offences in the Guildford area: on Wednesday 28th July intruders stole a Sony laptop, a Panasonic video camera, a Canon digital camera and a Nokia mobile phone from a house on Wood Street.

The previous Wednesday (21st) a Toshiba laptop, an Acer computer, Nintendo hand held consoles and a digital camera were stolen.

These two incidents alone saw equipment worth around £7000 taken.

DI Karen Hughes investigating said:

“Firstly I want to make residents aware that there are a number of daytime burglaries happening across the borough and that they should be ensuring that they lock all windows and doors in the current warm spell.

But most importantly I am appealing for help from the community in finding out where these stolen computer and electrical items are being sold.

If someone offers you such an item for sale in an unusual location or, as a trader, you are being offered goods such as these to buy I want to hear from you.

Hopefully by sharing such information there might be a vital clue which could help officers bring these offenders to justice.”
