A serious two vehicle road traffic collision occurred today in Weybridge Road, Weybridge in which a man was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital in Whitechapel with serious injuries.

The collision took place about 200 metres west of Wharf Way roundabout where the Weybridge Road crosses the River Wey.

At approximately midday a black Renault Scenic, travelling westwards, and a grey Honda Civic which was eastbound, collided head-on.

As a result serious injuries were caused to the occupants of the Honda; one passenger was airlifted to the Royal London Hospital at Whitechapel, and the two other occupants were taken to St Peter?s Hospital.

The three passengers in the Renault were taken to St Peter?s Hospital with minor injuries.

Officers are appealing for any witnesses who may have witnessed the collision or the manner of driving of either vehicle prior to the collision, to call the Surrey Police Collision Investigation Unit on 01483 639922.

The Weybridge Road has been closed between Station Road, Addlestone and Wharf Way roundabout at Portmore Park Road.
